He is currently the National Research Professor, Linus Pauling Research Professor and Honorary president of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore.An authority in solid-state and structural chemistry, Prof Rao has published over 1,630 research papers and penned, edited over 50 books.
