Domicile policy not as per wishes of Adivasis and Moolvasis: CM

Ranchi, Aug 15 (UNI) Making the intentions of his government clear over the Domicile Policy of the state, Chief Minister Hemant Soren in his Independence Day speech said that the present policy was not as per dreams of the Andolankaris and wishes of the Adivasis and Moolvasis of the state.
Speaking after hoisting the national flag on the occasion of the nation's 74th Independence Day at the Morhabadi Grounds of the state capital, he said that the main reason behind creation of a separate Jharkhand state was to give the rights and ensure the development of the people of the area.
He said that after the creation of the state itself the process of defining the domicile policy turned out to be a complex and important work.
He said that in his previous stance as the Chief Minister he had formed a committee in this regard. " From this stage I am not hesitant to say that the present domicile policy is not as per the dreams of the Jharkhand andolankaris and wishes of the Aadivasis and Moolwasis of the state." He said that his government as per the wishes of the majority of the people would form a committee which would redefine the domicile policy and apart from that the government was also working out to frame rules so that 75 per cent jobs in their private areas are reserved for the locals.
The chief minister said that his government was moving forward with the pledge to make such a state where rights of all are protected and no injustice is meted out to anyone and no discrimination is made in the name of rich and poor, forward and backward, upper and lower caste and where all round development of the tribals, dalits, backward and minorities is ensured.
Hemant said that his government was in favour of such model of development which is based on the concept of Social justice and fulfills the aspirations of the the people. He said his government has adopted the motto of development based on democracy. He assured the people of the state that his government would form high level committee which would work to increase the reservation in government jobs for Other Backward Caste SC and ST.
The CM said that a large number of people are working as contractual employees in rural development education health, home and social welfare department in the state and pointed that before the formation of the government he had promised to the people that their problems should be solved and reiterated the commitment of his government to solving their problems. He said that while understanding the problems of the people working in contractual level in different departments and to take a wider decision a high level committee will be formed.
The Chief Minister said that the government has also decided to declare August 9 which is celebrated as world tribal day as a public holiday and going forward on this occasion exhibition would be held in all the districts showcasing the work and the schemes which have been executed for the welfare of the tribals in the state.
He said that honour and security of the woman was among the priority areas of the government and after the formation of his government he had said that henceforth there would be no atrocities or injustice on women and had pointed out in the first Cabinet meeting itself it was decided to form 22 Fast Track courts to tackle the cases of exploitation against the woman.
