Doctors in CAB Medical Panel offer help at quarantine facility

Kolkata, Jul 11 (UNI) Reputed Doctors attached with major hospitals in the city who are
members of Medical Committee of The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) have
written to CAB President Avishek Dalmiya offering help in the quarantine facility that
would be set up.
“It is absolutely heartening to note that Medical experts have agreed to offer their
services for the quarantine facilities to be set up at Eden Gardens. We would intimate
Kolkata Police regarding this development," Mr Dalmiya said.
"The Doctors have also come forward by suggesting us on how we can keep the
balance areas safe and what measures we need to adopt,"he said.
The High- Profile CAB Medical Committee members Dr. Asif Iqbal (Attached with
Apollo Hospital), Dr. V. Lakshman (Attached with Kothari Medical Centre),
Dr. Saptarshi Basu (Attached with Woodlands Hospital), Dr. Subhasis Ganguly
(Attached with AMRI Salt Lake), Dr. Rana Chatterjee (Attached with Belle Vue
Hospital), Dr. Manoj Khanna (Attached with Belle Vue Hospital) and Dr. Suparno
Ganguly (Attached with Institute of Neuro Sciences Kolkata) have already
expressed their desire to involve themselves at the facility.
Dr Santi Ranjan Dasgupta, who is also known for his sports connections, is also
helping the Association during the pandemic with his suggestions.
Amongst other developments during the day, Joint Secretary Debabrata Das
along with Medical Committee Chairman Pradip Dey visited Eden Gardens to
relocate the groundsmen and other staffs to the dormitory and other makeshift
staying arrangements in blocks closer to Club House. Thorough sanitisation of
dormitory is also being conducted prior to shifting.
Furthermore, cleaning processes of toilets would commence soon in the blocks
where quarantine facilities would be set up.

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 12 (UNI) Faced with COVID-19 situation in many football playing countries, FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) have jointly decided that the upcoming qualifying matches for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023, scheduled to take place during the international match windows in October and November 2020, will be rescheduled in 2021.Asian Football Federation (AFC) in its website said with the aim of protecting the health and safety of all participants, FIFA and the AFC will continue to work together to closely monitor the situation in the region and to identify new dates for the respective qualifying matches.

Subrata Paul backs Gurpreet Sandhu to win more accolades in the future

New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) Iconic Indian goalkeeper ‘Spiderman’ Subrata Paul lauded fellow custodian Gurpreet Singh Sandhu as he went down memory lane looking back at their relationship saying that his younger colleague “has many glorious years in front of him.”
In a live chat with AIFF TV, Subrata congratulated Gurpreet for “winning the Arjuna Award and the Hero ISL Golden Glove.”
“I have seen the hard work he puts in. He has always been eager to learn and has always learnt from his mistakes, and has continued to grow. He is still young and has lot many years left in his playing career," quipped Subrata, who received the Arjuna Award himself in 2016.
