DLTA defends decision to arrange Davis Cup matches in evening

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) The Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) today upheld their decision to arrange India's Davis Cup matches against Spain in the evening to make tennis more accessible for the fans and safeguarding Indian players' playing conditions.
Although India's captain Anand Amrtiraj have given his opinion against the decision, that India's hot and humid condition would have given them advantage over Spain, DLTA defended their decision by giving the instance of Indian players during their India's match against Korea in Chandigarh.
DLTA in a press release said,"This (medical facilities) has been done especially keeping in mind that both Korean and Indian players started cramping in hot and humid conditions in Chandigarh in the last Davis Cup tie held in July against Korea.It was felt that hot and humid conditions can lead to cramping especially when players are playing five-set matches and it is important that highest level of medical attention should be made available at the venue."
