DFF invites entries for Indian Panorama 2017 Of IFFI

Panaji, Jul 8 (UNI) Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) has initiated the process for receiving entries for Indian Panorama section of the 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held from November 20-28 here, with some changes in the regulations.

Addressing a press conference along Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) Chairman Rajendra Talak in the city yesterday, Directorate of Film Festivals Director C Senthil Rajan said 26 feature and 21 non-feature contemporary Indian films of cinematic, thematic and aesthetic excellence would be selected, for the promotion of film art.

Films certified by Central Board for Film Certification (CBFC) or produced during the last 12 months preceding the festival ie from September 1, 2016 to July 31 would be eligible for Indian Panorama 2017.

Films not certified by CBFC and produced within this period could also be submitted, he said.

Out of 26 feature films selected in Indian Panorama, two films would be recommended for the Competition Section of International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Debut film (s) of a Director selected for Indian Panorama 2016 would also be considered for the Centenary Award for the Best Debut Film of a Director proposed to be given in the 47th International Film Festival of India. The award carries Rs 10, 00,000 and a silver peacock. Maximum of two such films will be considered for this award.

Indian Panorama is a significant component of the International Film Festival of India, organised by Directorate of Film Festivals under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, which features the best films of the year.
