Mandya Nov 25(UNI) The Karnataka Government’s proposal to build a Disneyland-like Amusement Park at the iconic Krishna Raja Sagar Dam in Mandya District is inching towards reality with Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy calling for Detailed Project Report on the project.
Mr Kumaraswamy, during his visit to Mandya said the government was determined to make the plan happen. He also chaired a meeting to discuss formation of Melukote Development Authority for overall development of pilgrimage centre. He said the focus of the State government is to develop Cauvery Basin as an internationally acclaimed tourist spot.
He said that the four dams built across river Cauvery would be developed in two phases under private-public participation. In the first phase, the Cauvery statue at KRS Dam would be built at a cost of Rs 1,060 crore and the overall Disneyland park estimated to cost about Rs 2,000 crore will be implemented. The other three dams would be developed in the second phase.
