Demand for special status for Bihar would continue : Nitish

Patna, Sep 29 (UNI) Brushing aside the speculations rife in some political circles that he has given up the demand for special category status for Bihar, the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar categorically said on Wednesday that the demand would continue.
After reviewing the progress of the preparations for the proposed visit of President Ram Nath Kovind, Mr Kumar while replying to queries from media persons regarding a recent statement of the Energy Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav about giving up the demand as it was not conceded since long and now they would manage with the special package, he said that he has not given up the demand.
The CM said that the centre has still to decide about the committee constituted for special status during the regime of Congress.
Regarding caste based census he said that the matter was now sub judice and he would take a step only with the consent of all political parties.
