Delhi riots : Gujral expresses disappointment over police inaction over his complaint

New Delhi, Feb 27 (UNI) Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha Naresh Gujral on Thursday wrote to Delhi Police chief Amulya patnaik citing how he had lodged a police complaint dialling 100 regarding a distress call from his acquaintances who were trapped in the violence affected area near Goda Chowk to the police commissioner of Delhi.
In the letter, Gujral expressed his disappointment stating that his complaint concerning trapped people did not get any assistance from the Police .
His acquaintances had reached out to him on Wednesday around midnight from the Maujpur area in North East district which was riot affected.
"If this is the situation when a Member of Parliament makes a complaint personally, it is not surprising that certain parts of Delhi continue to burn while the police stands by apathetically,'' Gujral's letter read.
