Delhi Food Minister finds deficiencies in FPS e-POS systems at Burari

New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) Delhi Food and Civil Supplies Minister Imran Hussain on Wednesday found deficiencies in Fair Price Shops e-POS systems at Burari during inspections.
The Minister has directed the department to take a strict action against those found guilty of dereliction of duty after deficiencies were noticed during surprise inspections by him to check the efficacy of functioning of e Point of Sale (e PoS) devices installed at Fair Price Shops at Burari.
During the inspection, senior officers of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies also accompanied the Minister.
Nine Fair Price Shops (FPS) were checked and a number of deficiencies and shortcomings were noticed, an official statement said.
There was connectivity problem at some of the FPS leading to delay in distribution of ration to the
beneficiaries through e-PoS devices.
At some of the shops, problems pertaining to the system getting hanged were noticed whene-PoS device was being connected to electronic weighing machine.
At one FPS, the e-PoS device was reportedly sent for repairs.
The Minister directed the Department to ensure that such issues pertaining to functioning of e-PoS devices, electronic weighing machines and connectivity are immediately attended to, so that the ration beneficiaries do not have to face inconvenience in obtaining their ration.
