Defexpo 2016 to showcase Make in India potential to global industry leaders

New Delhi, Mar 25 (UNI) Four-day long Indian defence sector exhibition Defexpo 2016 starting Monday is set to showcase some of the state-of-the-art military systems and technologies developed by the DRDO and will tout Make in India potential of the sector before the visiting stakholders from across the globe.
The ninth edition of this biennial 'Land, Naval and Internal Homeland Security Systems Exhibition" Defence Expo 2016, or Defexpo 2016, which opens in the scenic town of Goa on March 28, will be inaugurated by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
The Ministry says focusing on “Make in India” and “Self-Reliance”, the DRDO participation will provide a platform for collaboration with industry and academia. The DRDO has amply demonstrated capability to design, develop and realise highly complex multidisciplinary weapon platforms for Army, Navy and Air force. These systems are among the most extensively evaluated systems in harsh environmental conditions, meeting stringent quality requirements of our services, it said.
