Death toll mounts to 12 in Nadia's hooch tragedy, prime accused also dead

Santipur, Nov 29 (UNI) With five more deaths reported since last night, the toll in West Bengal's Nadia district hooch tragedy rose to 12 after scores of poor people consumed illicit liquor on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, the SUCI today called a 12-hour Nadia shut down on Friday to protest the government's alleged negligence to stop the illicit liquor trade in rural Bengal.
State police began operation against the illicit liquor trade in other districts of Murshidabad and Hooghly.
