Death toll in torrential rains, floods rises to 113 in Kerala, 29 still missing

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 17 (UNI) The death toll in torrential rains, floods and landslides has risen to 113 in Kerala on Saturday even as 29 people are still missing in various districts in the state since August 8.
As many as 1,29,517 people from 41,253 families are now staying in 805 relief camps in various districts. However, several returned to their homes after water receded at their places, official sources said.
Sources said, 6 people died in Alappuzha district, 2 each in Kottayam and Kasaragod districts, 5 in Idukki, 9 in Thrissur, 50 in Malappuram, 17 in Kozhikode, 12 in Wayanad, 1 in Palakkad and 9 in Kannur districts till this morning.
