Dayashanker expelled from BJP for six years: BSP protests in Lucknow; lay seige of Hazratganj area

Lucknow, Jul 21(UNI) With Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) activists thronging the state capital demanding arrest of BJP leader Dayashanker Singh for making derogatory remarks against party president Mayawati, the BJP on other hand has expelled Dayashanker from the party for six years. BJP sources here today said that the erstwhile BJP vice- president and in-charge of the state youth wing Dayashanker Singh has been expelled from the party for six years. Yesterday Dayashanker was sacked from all the party posts by state president Keshav Prasad Maurya following massive protest by the BSP inside and outside Parliament. BJP leadership is likely to announce the expulsion of Dayashanker in Parliament today as BSP president Mayawati was demanding for it along with his arrest. Meanwhile, thousands of BSP leaders and activists today almost lay seize the Hazratganj area after they started a demonstration in front of the Dr B R Ambedkar statue at around 0800 hours. BSP activists and leaders from all over the state rushed to Lucknow this morning to join the agitation which is also said to be a fresh revival of the party after the recent resignation of two senior party leaders-- Swami Prasad Maurya and R K Choudhury. The protest is led by party leaders Nasimuddin Siddique, Ramveer Upadhaya, Brajesh Pathak and other senior party functionaries. After a full day drama, last night UP police had lodged an FIR against BJP leader Dayashanker Singh for his deregotary remarks against BSP president Mayawati. BSP leader gave a written complaint to police at Hazratganj police station in the state capital. The FIR was registered on behalf of BSP national secretary Mewa Lal Gautam, who gave a two page written complaint to the police. Now after registering the FIR the state capital police will send it to the concerned police station in Mau. FIR had been registered against BJP leader Dayashanker Singh under Sections 153 (A), 504 and 509 of IPC.The FIR also has relevant Sections of the SC/ST Act. Senior police officials told UNI here today that efforts were on to arrest Dayashanker, who has gone missing from Ballia district yesterday. UNI MB ADG 1020
