Lahore, Dec 11 (UNI) Hundreds of lawyers who stormed and ransacked a hospital in the Pakistan city a day ago, staged a protest here on Thursday after talks between the High Court Bar Association and city administration broke down, media reported.
According to broadcaster Geo TV, Lahore’s lawyers protest what they consider to be torture and unlawful arrests by police during Wednesday’s incident at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
On Wednesday, they created chaos to avenge what they said was an assault by doctors there on a fellow advocate, city police chief said, adding that the mob smashed windowpanes, doors and equipment at the cardiology hospital and also set several vehicles on fire.
