New Delhi, Jun 21 (UNI) Supreme Court on Friday said it will hear on Tuesday the petition filed by a woman advocate, Indu Kaul, seeking court's intervention and a direction for a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into the alleged murder of Darvesh Yadav, the first woman chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council.
Ms Kaul, has in her petition claimed there is no security of women lawyers after their duty hours across the country.
"This matter needed to be taken care of with immediate effect as women lawyers across the country are very scared after this brutal incident," she said in her petition.
After hearing the petition filed by Indu Kaul, the bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Deepak Gupta, said "we will hear the petition of the woman lawyer, Indu Kaul on June 25, Tuesday".
Ms Kaul also said there is need to entirely see the safety and security of women lawyers after the working hours as they are not safe. The SC should also look into the issue of compensation part and it should also be paid to the kith and kin of the victim and implemented with immediate effect."
According to the prosecution, Darvesh Yadav, the first woman chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council, was allegedly killed on June 12 by her male colleague in the premises of Agra district court in Uttar Pradesh.
