Lisbon, Oct 3 (UNI) Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo on Wednesday "firmly" denied the raping complaint against him.
According to reports, Las Vegas police confirmed on Tuesday that they had initially investigated the complaint against the footballer regarding raping a woman in a US hotel room in June 2009, but added they had no suspect in the case.
"I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me. Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in. Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense", the 33-year-old footballer said in a tweet.
