Cow dung found in patient’s food in Nagpur hospital

Nagpur, Jun 20 (UNI) Just as a fasting government officer in
Maharashtra’s Vidhan Bhavan canteen in Mumbai found chicken pieces
in his vegetarian dish on Wednesday, cow dung was found in a
patient’s food in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH)
here.
Umesh Pawar, a resident of Chandrapur, who was being treated at the
GMCH for more than a week, was having the dinner comprising of palak
dal, rice and rotis along with his wife Kaushalya last evening.
At that time, he realised that he had consumed cow dung that was
present in the food. Then, he complained about the same to the GMC
staff, thereafter, the food samples were sent for inspection.
Though there is nothing new about the irregularities prevailing at
GMCH, by serving cow dung has added another chapter to their dubious
distinction.
Taking a serious view of the matter, Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar
raised the issue in the state assembly on Thursday, to which Chief
Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed serious concern about the issue
and assured that the guilty would be suspended.
