COVID deaths in Brazil pass 100,000 mark

Brasilia, Aug 9(UNI) Brazil on Sunday crossed the 100,000 mark in terms of COVID linked deaths, thus becoming the 2nd worst affected country in this regard even as the outbreak in the country shows no sign of easing.
The virus has killed more than 50,000 people in just months, but that number doubled in just 50 days. There have been more than three million confirmed cases in the country so far.
Health experts say that the pandemic is yet to peak in Brazil but the government has already allowed shops and restaurants reopen.
