COVID-19: Nepal records highest single-day spike in cases

Kathmandu, Sep 18(UNI) Nepal on Friday reported 2,020 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, which is the highest single-day spike so far, apart from this the Himalayan nation also registered seven more COVID-19-related fatalities.With the addition of 2020 more cases the national infection tally has reached 61,593 while the death toll now stands at 390.
The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed today that 43,820 patients have made successful recovery till date, 871 of them during the past 24 hours.The Kathmandu Valley recorded the highest daily coronavirus cases with 859 new infections. Out of these 698 were confirmed from the Kathmandu city itself. The Kathmandu valley currently 15,138 cases.
The Kathmandu post reported that the seven people who died to the ailment include two men aged 66 years were from Morang, three men aged 88, 82 and 31 years from Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Nawalparasi (West) districts respectively and two women aged 85 and 66 years from Kathmandu and Lalitpur.
