Covid 19: Lt Governor urged to order temporary closure of schools in Pondy

Puducherry March 18(UNI) The high- level vaccination Committee of the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services of Puducherry Administration at its meeting held on Thursday urged the Lt Governor to get the schools to close 'temporarily' in the Union Territory as a precautionary measure in view of the 'imminent outbreak of second wave of Covid 19'.
According to an official release, the meeting held under the chairmanship of Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan reviewed the prevalence of the pandemic and steps taken to combat it in the Union Territory.
The meeting discussed various measures and felt, that among other things that the testing of samples should be ramped up to RT PCR, RAT in the ratio of 70:30.
