COVID-19: Kerala reports 1,569 new cases, ten fatalities

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 14 (UNI) Kerala reported 10 deaths due to COVID-19 on Friday whereas 1,569 people tested positive to the virus newly, 1,304 patients have recovered, total 14,094 patients are under treatment, Health Minister KK Shailaja said on Friday evening.
"Currently 1,55,025 people are under surveillance in the state -- 1,42,291 are under home or institutional quarantine and 12,734 in hospitals. 1,479 persons were hospitalised today," the Minister said in a statement.
The Minister also confirmed 10 COVID deaths, Lakshmi (74), Nirmala (65), Shirley (62), Lalitha (70), M Surendran (60) and Stanzilas (80) from Thiruvananthapuram district, Moiduppa (82) from Malappuram district, Thankappan (70) and Rukia (60) from Ernakulam district, and George (65) from Thrissur district, taking the death toll to 139 in the State.
