New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli took to social media platform urging people to maintain social distancing in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and follow the safety guidelines issued by the government seriously.
Virat, who is has been regularly posting his messages and videos on twitter regarding coronavirus outbreak said, Prime Minister Narendra Modihad had announced a 21 day lockdown beginning from Tuesday midnight to counter the pandemic.
Kohli, on Friday, posted a video saying "What I have seen in the last few days - people moving in groups, not abiding by curfew rules, not following lockdown guidelines - it shows that we are taking the fight very lightly. But this fight is not as easy as it looks or feels."
"It will only be successful when we follow our duties rather than going out in groups and breaking rules. This for me is an act against the country's well-being. So now, I along with all of you wish to see things improve and please follow the directives of the government," Kohli concluded.
The sporting activities around the world have either been postponed or cancelled in the wake of the disease.
