COVID-19: 9 new cases, 13 cured, total 259 patients under treatment in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 8 (UNI) Kerala reported nine new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday taking the total positive cases to 259, while 13 infected cases were cured in the State, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
"As on today, there are 345 confirmed cases in the State with 259 patients currently under treatment in various hospitals. Thirteen patients tested negative today - three each in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur, two each in Idukki, Kozhikode and Wayanad, one in Kannur districts," the Chief Minister furher said while addressing a press conference at the Government Secretariat.
"Out of the nine new cases, four are from Kannur district, two from Alappuzha district, and one each from Pathanamthitta, Kasaragod and Thrissur districts. Four of the fresh cases were reported in those who came from overseas, two from those who returned after attending the Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin and the rest three infected through primary contact with other patients," he stated.
