Corona impact: Lawyers in Jharkhand to abstain from work for a week

Ranchi, Apr 18 (UNI) The Jharkhand State Bar Council has decided that all the lawyers in the state and their support staff will restrain from all court related works whether physical or online for a period of one week starting from April 19.
As per the notice issued by Secretary of Jharkhand State Bar Council Rajesh Pandey the lawyers in High Court, District Courts, Sub Divisional Courts, tribunals or any other court will be abstaining from for a period of one week. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the Jharkhand State Bar Council which was held on Sunday to discuss the situation in wake of Coronavirus pandemic.
The council in the meeting expressed its grave concern over many advocates and their support staff falling ill and several precious lives lost. Further it said that the medical facilities and supplies are grossly unsatisfactory therefore under the present situation it was necessary to break the chain and also provide some time to improve the medical facilities and supplies.
