New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) With President Donald Trump hell bent on executing its plans for change in H1B visa norms, India today said that it had noted the development with concern. 'India's concerns and interests have been conveyed to both the Trump Administration and the Congress at senior levels,' External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said here. Mr Swarup’s remarks came as news broke out of the Trump administration drafting an executive order aimed at examining the current work visa programme to change it in line with the new President's ‘America First’ policy. The proposed changes would threaten the India IT sector as American companies outsource their job to it. A legislation has also been introduced in the US House of Representatives, which among other things, calls for more than doubling the minimum salary of H-1B visa holders to 1,3000 dollars, which if passed, would make it difficult for firms to replace US employees with workers from foreign countries.
