Congress to demonstrate against demonetisation on Jan 5

Agartala, Jan 03 (UNI) The opposition Congress in Tripura announced today of holding demonstration before the offices of sub-divisional magistrates and district magistrates against the demonetisation drive on January 5. President of Tripura Congress Committee Birajit Sinha alleged that sudden demonetisation of highest value currencies has caused "limitless inconveniences" to the common people and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is shifting his stand with every passing day. “Prime Minister told demonetisation was to arrest flow of black money in the country, soon after he shifted his stand of argument and said it will stop terror funding and circulation of counterfeit notes. But now he is talking about cashless economy and digital mode of transaction, which is totally confusing for the people,” Mr Sinha said. He said Congress has launched a nationwide programme against Mr Modi’s whimsical decisions to make a few rich class of people happy and declaring war against common Indians. “Modi does not have any feeling for the poorest section of the country who do not even think for tomorrow. He must know cashless society does not start in a month or a year, it also has a process of evolution,” he said. Being a responsible political party, the state Congress will demonstrate before the government offices, including District Magistrates and Sub-divisional Magistrates, to protest against demonetisation, he said. "The process of demonetisation is anti-people and anti-poor. It is a disaster caused by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. People want a relief from it. Demonetisation is one of the biggest scams aimed at benefiting the corporate. Rahul Gandhi had asked many questions, including the quantity of black money recovered due to this step, but the PM remained silent. It shows the incapability of the government to face the common people,” Mr Sinha alleged. UNI BB AD1128
