Congress leaders to meet mining affected people in Delhi

Panaji, Dec 10 (UNI) Congress leaders from Goa will be travelling to New Delhi to extend support to mining dependents who have planned to hold a protest in the national capital demanding early resumption of mining in the state.
According to party sources, former Chief Minister and MLA from Margao Digambar Kamat, Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Chandrakant 'Babu' Kavlekar and All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary and Goa Desk Incharge A Chellakumar will meet the protestors.
The party has already extended its support to the mining affected people in the state. Besides Congress, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Goa Forward Party (GFP) and Shiv Sena also have extended support to the mining affected people.

Two get life sentences in Narendra Dabholkar murder case

Mumbai, May 10 (UNI) A Special UAPA court in Maharashtra on Friday awarded life imprisonment to two persons while acquitting three others in the sensational daylight killing of medico and rationalist Narendra Dabholkar in Pune in Aug. 2013/
Special Court, Pune, Judge P. P. Jadhav awarded life sentences to Sharad B. Kalaskar and Sachin P. Andure, and slapped a fine of Rs 5-Lakhs on each of them. The duo would have to undergo imprisonment for an additional one year if they fail to pay the fine.
