Congress in Goa objects to bill that allows women to work in night shift in pvt sector

Panaji, Aug 11 (UNI) The Congress in Goa on Sunday objected to the bill that allows women to work in night shift in private sector in the state and demanded that the same be withheld and referred to the President.
In a letter written to Governor Mridula Sinha, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chdankar said whatever precautions were taken, the working environment for women in night shifts would always be a threat to their safety and security.
Even as sought to be assured that consent of the woman would have to be taken before giving her night shift duty, such consent would always be under threat of making them redundant or transferring them and finally getting rid of the woman who did not agree to the night-shift duty, he said.
