Congress demands withdrawal of Bihar liquor ban

Patna, Dec 7 (UNI) Congress a partner in Bihar's Grand Alliance government, on Wednesday demanded the withdrawal of the liquor ban if the government failed to enforce it strictly.
According to the Congress, failure in enforcing complete prohibition was causing huge revenue losses to the state chequer.
Leader of Congress legislative party in the state Assembly Ajit Sharma told media persons despite the best efforts of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the liquor ban in Bihar was not yielding the desired results. Liquor was widely available in Bihar due to the nexus of the liquor mafia with officials of the state government, he added.
