Congress accuses Goa CM of indulging in land deals, demands his resignation

Panaji, Nov 16 (UNI) The Congress on Saturday alleged that Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was indulging in land deals while he should be working for the people and demanded his resignation from the post.
Addressing a press conference at party state headquarters in the city, Congress National Spokesperson Pawan Khera said questioned purchase of large tracts of land by the Chief Minister in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district and claimed that the land deals were signed when the Chief Minister was campaigning in the recently concluded assembly elections in Maharashtra.
"What is it about Dodamarg sub district in Maharashtra that the Chief Minister of Goa, who belongs to the BJP, goes to campaign against the joint candidate of BJP and Shiv Sena in the Sawantwadi Assembly segment? A group created by Sawant talks about merger of the sub district with Goa. We demand to know if this talk of merger is inspired by the investments made by Sawant in the sub district," Mr Khera said.
