Cong MLAs including Minister oppose Pedanna's candidacy from Kolar, threaten to resign

Bengaluru, Mar 27 (UNI) The political scenario in Karnataka on Wednesday experienced significant upheaval, particularly within the Congress party, due to the plans to allocate Kolar Lok Sabha ticket to KG Chikka Peddanna, who is the son-in-law of Karnataka Minister KH Muniyappa. This decision has led to discontent among several Congress members in the state.
Five Congress MLAs, including Minister of Higher Education Dr MC Sudhakar, and two MLCs have threatened to resign from their legislative positions and party memberships in protest against this decision. They have expressed their dissatisfaction with the party leadership's disregard for their feedback and demands regarding ticket distribution.
Minister Sudhakar, speaking on behalf of the dissatisfied MLAs, emphasised that they cannot accept the decision to field Muniyappa's son-in-law from the Kolar segment. He highlighted the need for opportunities to be given to other members within the party and advocated for candidates outside the Muniyappa family to be considered.
