Cong leaders condemn attack on Rajkot candidate's brother

Ahmedabad, Dec 3 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia on Sunday condemned the attack on
Divyanil Rajyaguru, brother of Congress candidate from Rajkot (West) Indranil Rajyaguru.
"I condemn the attack on the brother of Indranil Rajyaguru, @INCGujarat Candidate in Rajkot West against
CM Rupani & also arrest of Indranil Rajyaguru by Police without giving any reason," he tweeted.
In another tweet, he wrote: "Shameful! Fearing the defeat of CM, BJP has stopped down to lowest level of politics".
Rajkot East sitting legislator Indranil Rajyaguru has shifted to Rajkot West to take on the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
According to television report, an argument between Congress and BJP workers over putting up banners at
Kanhaiya Chowk in Rajkot took a violent turn on Saturday late night.
Divyanil Rajyaguru, brother of Congress candidate, reportedly suffered haemorrhage after he was hit on the head allegedly by BJP workers.
The Congress MP from Maharashtra, Rajeev Satav also took to micro blogging site and wrote on Saturday night,"Due to fear of CMs defeat Rajkot Police has arrested Congress candidate Indranil Rajguru ,who is contesting against CM without giving any reason. No free and fair election".
The Congress sources later alleged that even Hingloi MP Mr Satav was also injured in the scuffle.
Additional Police Commissioner Deepak Bhatt said a clash took place near Kanhaiya Road between two groups regarding a campaign poster.
Later, Congress workers protested in front of CM residence. During the protest, Mr Rupani was present inside his residence.
