Concern in India over US pullout from Afghanistan; US sees 'significant stake' for the country

New Delhi, Apr 15 (UNI) A day after US President Joe Biden said India has "significant stake" in Aghanistan, concerns have been voiced that the pullout of American and NATO troops from next month would create a "vacuum" in the war-torn country.
Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat said India would be happy and contribute to peace and stability in the South Asian country.
"But our concern is that the vacuum that is going to be created with the withdrawal of US and NATO, should not create space for other disruptors to step in, therefore the violence continues in Afghanistan," Gen Rawat said, participating in a session in the ongoing Raisina Dialogue in the capital.
