CM pays floral tributes to Lala Lajpat Rai

Shimla, Nov 17(UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today paid rich tributes to 'Sher-e-Punjab' Lala Lajpat Rai, on his death anniversary at Scandal Point here.
Mr Singh said Lajpat Rai was a great freedom fighter and revolutionary, who made supreme sacrifice for the freedom of the nation.
He said the great freedom fighter led a non-violent protest against the Simon Commission, when it visited Lahore on October 30, 1928, but police assaulted Lajpat Rai, who was grievously injured and laid his life for the sake of the nation.
