CM inspects quarantine centre; Police take actions against defaulters

Imphal, March 30 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh today inspected a quarantine centre and instructed early completion to enable health officials take over it.
The State Government is setting up a new 200-bed quarantine centre at Langthabal Phumlou Loukol in Imphal West District as part of the immediate measures taken up to tackle spread of pandemic COVID-19. It will be completed within ten to 15 days, the chief minister said. The new centre is to be set up in addition to the existing centres being opened in different districts of the State.
Mr Singh along with some MLAs and officials inspected the site today. The centre would be constructed in a land of about one hectare . Half of the land would be donated by the land owner while another half would be bought from him by the Government as per the existing land price. A Government hospital would be developed on the land after the epidemic is contained.
