City of Palaces gets Karnataka's second Hi-tech traffic signal

Mysuru, Sep 19 (UNI) City of Palaces got Karnataka's second hi-tech traffic signal installed by Police for better control of vehicle movement on the eve of forthcoming Dasara festivities.
Commissioner of Police Dr A Subramanyeshwara Rao said here on Wednesday that Mysuru City has 50 traffic signal lights at various junctions.
“Mysuru is the only city after Bengaluru to use the latest technology to upgrade traffic lights. Earlier signal lights were equipped with fixed timing mode. It was a basic control system. If the signal had to change, its fixed time had to complete. It was not possible to control the signal manually and change it to blinking mode. It did not have central devices with intelligence box. Even when there was no traffic, the green light would be on till a stipulated time,” he explained.
