Chowgule SBD delivers 6th vessel to Wijnne and Barends of Netherlands

Panaji, Nov 30 (UNI) The Chowgule Shipbuilding Division on Tuesday announced that it has delivered its 32nd vessel to Europe.
MV LADY HANNAH, the 4220 DWT Ice Class 1A MPP Cargo carrier vessel, sixth and the last from a series of six vessels, was delivered to Netherlands- based Wijnne & Barends from Chowgule’s Loutulim shipyard on Tuesday, a statement from the company said.
The contract for a series of six vessels was signed in 2017 and the deliveries started from June 2019.
These energy-efficient Ice Class vessels are first of its kind to be built in India.
Arjun Chowgule, Executive Director of Chowgule and Company, said, “The team at Chowgule SBD worked relentlessly to meet delivery schedules despite the Covid-19 pandemic. The workforce commitment made it possible to deliver four vessels after the first lockdowns started.. They worked with full resolve to overcome various challenges especially related to the supply chain. The shipyard has again created a benchmark due to its experienced and committed team.”
