Amaravati, Jan 20 (UNI) Police resorted to lathicharge on large number of agitators to prevent them of marching towards the Assembly in response to the 'Chalo Assembly' call given by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi, on Monday.
Huge crowds from Velgapudi village reached to the Assembly through fields and the police prevented them some distance away from the Assembly by resorting to cane charge.
Some women protestors have fainted in the lathicharge.
