Centre gives permission for budget presentation: CM

Puducherry, June 19 (UNI) The Union Home Ministry on Tuesday granted approval to the budget of the Union Territory of Puducherry for 2018-2019 -- 45 days after it was sent to the Ministry, Chief Minister V Narayansamy said.
Talking to newspersons, Mr Narayanasamy said the date for presentation of the budget will be decided in discussion with Speaker V Vaithilingam. The budget outlay of Rs 7530 crore with a projected central assistance of Rs 389 crore for centrally sponsored schemes and central sector schemes was approved after the territorial administration gave its reply on the clarification sought by MHA and their clearances by the Union Finance Ministry.
He himself had followed up the matter with Joint Secretary and Secretary in MHA and subsequently met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday and explained the replies to the queries put forth by the ministry, following which the approval was granted.
