Centre decides to establish National Police University in Greater Noida

New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) Centre has decided to establish a world class National Police University (NPU) in Greater Noida in UP, a Home Ministry official said here on Thursday.
It has been decided to set up the proposed University at a prime location in the NCR region on a 100 acres of land located at IT Park, Tech zone, Greater Noida and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has offered the land on a 90 years lease basis at a concessional rate at the cost of Rs 371 crore, the official further said.
The NPU will be having a dynamic, state-of-the-art learning and working environment dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of education, research and scholarships of the highest quality in the domain of policing science, forensic science, cyber forensics, criminology, criminal justice, risk management and related areas.

New Delhi, April 26 (UNI) The Supreme Court Friday rejected pleas for paper ballot voting, complete EVM-VVPAT verification, and physical deposit of VVPAT slips while suggesting measures for effective functioning of the polling system as the second phase of Lok Sabha election got underway.
