Centre committed to strengthening sports infrastructure facilities in view of 2028 Olympics

Shivamogga., Feb 22 (UNI) Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju has said the Centre was committed to strengthening sports infrastructure facilities and the country would aim to be one among the top 10 highest medal-winning countries in the 2028 Olympics.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for an indoor stadium at Sahyadri College in Shivamogga . The stadium is coming up at a cost of Rs 5 crore. The Centre has been providing sports infrastructure to all States. 'We are improving facilities so that we can host the Olympics in the coming years.
The Centre has been offering sports activities infrastructure to all States. We're enhancing amenities in order that we will host the Olympics within the coming years. India stands first on the planet when it comes to the youth inhabitants. The youth have many alternatives and they need to make use of them,' he stated.
'We have now launched Match India programme to encourage health amongst individuals,' he stated.
Shivamogga would grow to be a significant sports activities hub within the nation in a number of years. He hoped sports activities personalities from Karnataka win gold medals in future Olympic occasions.
