New Delhi, Jul 15 (UNI) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested seven people, including public servants, for their alleged involvement in a bribery case where Rs 25 lakhs were taken or handed over as a illegal gratification.
According to sources, the alleged illegal gratification amount of Rs 25 was demanded against passing of bills and awarding contracts by the NPCC (National Projects Construction Corporation).
The searches were conducted at 18 locations including Delhi, Silchar, Jalpaiguri , Guwahati , Gwalior and others at places of the accused persons that led to recovery of incriminating documents and articles.
The accused were being produced before the concerned courts on Monday, the sources said.
For the past two weeks, the probe agency has been conducting searches under the special drives against financial frauds, corruption and criminal conducts.
So far the probe agency has raided more than 150 locations in the last couple of weeks across the country in more than 50 cases.
