Calls for cease-work across the state extends: WB Bar council

KOLKATA, Apr 29 - Lawyers's cease-work across the state which began on Friday to protest the Wednesday's clash between a section of lawyers of Howrah district court and employees of Howrah Municipal Corporation was extended till Wednesday, according to the State Bar Council.
" The decision was taken at a meeting of the state Bar Council this evening," Uttam Majumdar, a council member said.
Meanwhile, crowds of lawyers of the Howrah district court on Monday staged a sit-in before the council office beside Calcutta High Court demanding arrest of the civic body employees and police personnel who allegedly assaulted the lawyers.
