Cabinet Sub-committee formed in AP to probe irregularities in power purchasing during TDP regime

Amaravati, July 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh government has formed a Cabinet Sub-committee to probe the alleged irregularities in the solar power and wind power purchase agreements that took place during Chandrababu Naidu led regime.
The government formed the Cabinet Sub-committee comprising Buggana Rajendranatha Reddy, Minister for Finance, B Sreenivasa Reddy, Minister for Energy, Sriram Subramanyam, Advocate General, AP High Court, Ajeya Kallam, Principal Advisor to Chief Minister, S S Rawath, Principal Finance Secretary, N Srikant, Secretary to Government of AP, Energy Department, D Krishna, Special Secretary to Chief Minister, Gopal Reddy, former CMD, APSPDCL, Joint Managing Director.
At a review meeting here on Monday, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the TDP led government had resorted to a massive fraud resulting in the loss of Rs.2,636 crore to the State’s exchequer. As part of this, a High Level Negotiation Committee (HLNC) for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to review, negotiate and bring down the high wind and solar energy purchase prices was constituted. The HLNC was asked to complete the negotiations and submit a report to the Government within 45 days
