CAA will provide home to tormented Buddhists, Christians in Afghanistan, Pakistan : Shahnawaz Hussain

Panaji, Dec 18 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Wednesday said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will provide home to minorities like Buddhists in Afganistan and Christians in Pakistan as they were not safe in those countries.
Addressing a press conference at BJP state headquarters in the city, he said even when there was Nehru-Liaquat agreement, both countries had agreed that there would not be persecution in the name of religion but in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, Hindus, Christians, Sikh, Parsis, Buddhists were being persecuted.
“In Afghanistan, in Bamiyan the statues built in the mountains were bombarded. What then of the people who live there? Even today, in Pakistan, Christian girls are being sold for marriage to China because they are Christian. If these people want to come to India we will give them a home and citizenship,” he said.
