BYN Mellon India improved lives of nearly 3 lakh people through CSR programmes in Pune, Chennai

Pune, Jun 23 (UNI) BYN Mellon India, an investment company based
in city, today claimed that it had improved the lives of nearly 3
lakh people through an array of corporate social responsibility
(CSR) programmes.
Talking to reporters here on the sidelines of the
‘Leadership Forum - Embracing Inclusion: Deepening the Dialogue’,
Dinesh Deo, chief executive officer of the company, said that the
company had undertaken a range of initiatives from fundraising,
tree plantation, enabling students with school bags and other
teaching tools, empowerment of girls, water conservation and
purification plants, sanitation with 300 toilets across Pune and
Chennai and holistic village development, Siddhegavhan village,
Pune and many more in various parts of Pune and Chennai.
He further said that the company had provided various
villages with mobile clinics, surgical tools for hospitals for
improved health care regime.
The company had invested 19,000 hours in the CSR services
to transform thousands of mindsets and lives, he informed.
It had also organized various master sessions on gender
equality, digital literacy and workforce development by the
company for enabling the taskforce to be ‘inclusive’.
The company encourages employee participation through
incentives that include contributory hours matching donations,
paid volunteer time and employee recognition, he informed.
Mr Deo said, "It’s our strong belief that all these
initiatives will slowly and gradually bring about the change in
the mindset of the society towards the underprivileged segments."
Within BNY Mellon, the firm has key community partnership
groups ranging from women initiative network (WIN), differently
abled and multicultural groups, he added.
