Patna, Feb 25 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today presented state budget of Rs 2,11,761 Crores with a revenue surplus of Rs 19,172 crores in Assembly having a highest allocation of Rs 35,191 Crores for Education sector followed by Rs 15,955 Crores for Rural Development and Rs 10, 937 Crores for Health sector.
Mr Modi, after presenting the budget of Rs 2,11, 761 Crores for fiscal 2020-21 in Assembly, during interaction with media persons here, said the budget is of revenue surplus of Rs 19,172 crores which reflected the fact that state economy was in good condition and the fund was available to be used for development works.
A number of states including West Bengal and Kerala had revenue deficit budget which compelled them to borrow even for committed expenditure like payment of salaries and pension to government staff, he added.
