Shimla, Jan 15 (UNI) Government of India, public sector unit, BSNL entered into the 4th Generation
Telecommunication services after its formal launch of its 4G internet services from rural areas of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh in the first phase.
Chief General Manger of BSNL, HP Circle, Arun Agarwal formally made a soft launch of 4G service at Vikasnagar CGM office here in presence of large number of media persons on Tuesday.
'Much awaited 4G service launched in the hill state as it was necessary in the time when 4G is highly competitive Telecom sector, Mr Agwaral said in the press conference on its launch", Mr Agarwal said.
'The BSNL is major player offering Telephony, Broadband and Mobile services in town and rural areas of Himachal Pradesh as people reposed confidence and faith in its service and with addition of 4 G, BSNL would excel all private service providers as it is offering the internet services on 2100 mega hertz band in the state", Mr Agarwal added.
The BSNL have about 26 per cent customers in Himachal who are using its services likely to further boast up with new expansion in latest telecom technological advancement in the service sector.
State unit despite offering 3G mobile internet services, figures in the 2nd place in the country he said that BSNL made launch of 4G services from rural area of Kullu district and it would be expanded to rest of rural areas and town with coming up new 4G network in the coming days.
We are directly shifting such areas to 4G where 3G internet facility is not working properly as 21 towers of 4G has been installed and target to activate rest 74-4G towers likely to be made Jan 26 this year.
In the towns including Shimla, where 3G services are offering good service have to wait till Jun and Jul to switched over to 4G network.
He said that 4G services in this capital town likely to be unveiled till Jun to July as 3G and 4G services are available on same spectrum. Since 3G services are efficient enough in the town, 4G network did not maee available sofar.
Announcing to switched over 4G to entire state soon, he said that BSNL is waiting allocation of high
spectrum , already applied with the Union Government to advance, make market oriented and competitive to retain customer base intact in the fierce competition.
This hill state includes among the few highly developed and well telecommunication covered as it has highest tele-density in the country, he added.
