Tumakuru, Nov 14 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Dr G Parameshwara on Wednesday alleged that the BJP party leaders have indulged in spreading wrong propoganda against Congress stating that the party (Congress) stalled the chance of veteran freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhai Patel from becoming Prime Minister.
Speaking at Children Day function organised here, he said that "BJP leaders have not read the history. Jawaharlal Nehru did not lobby for Prime Minister post but he was selected unanimously. He (Mr Nehru) was the one who laid foundation for the country's development."
"Congress was responsible since last 70 years for development of the country whether it is in Agriculture, education, Industry etc., The overall development of the country cannot take place overnight. It has taken place only because of dedication by several Congress leaders. If Congress leaders have looted the country's wealth how the development has taken place wether it is through green revolution or white revelution, achievement in IT and BT etc., he added.
