BJP leadership slams Mamata Govt for stopping Dilip Ghosh's entry to Amphan-ravaged South 24 Parganas

Kolkata, May 23 (UNI) The BJP leadership today slammed the Mamata Banerjee Government in West Bengal after its state president Dilip Ghosh was stopped from going to Amphan ravaged South 24 Parganas.
"While moving towards Amphan cyclone affected areas of Baruipur, Canning, Basanti ( S 24 Parganas) police barricade at Dhalai bridge (Kolkata) (stopped him). Strange, " Mr Ghosh tweeted.
Police said since the lockdown has been enforced due to Covid none was allowed to move across the state.
There was tension between the supporters of ruling Trinamool Congress and opposition BJP as the former was protesting Dilip Ghosh's entry into the district and the latter wanted to clear the road for movement of their leader car.
However, the police removed the supporters and Mr Ghosh after waiting for two hours near Patuli in south Kolkata and returned to party office on Cental Avenue in central Kolkata.
"West Bengal government is focused on scoring political brownie points even in the times of disaster. Mamata Official will politicize everything, not let BJP leaders reach people and will herself do nothing to ease the pain. Her government has failed the state," BJP national leader Kailash
Vijayvargiya said.
"Why Mamata Banerjee’s administration has stopped Dilip Ghosh near Patuli Bridge?" BJP's state office asked.
"He is on his way to assess the devastation of Cyclone effected areas of Basanti and
Canning," the party said.
